It is rare to find an interesting and detailed report into issues affecting the regulation of Canada’s retail financial services, and it is nice to see a document that a) does not require a submission to initiate its existence and b) that goes beyond the issue and into the detail.
It also provides a much needed historical as well global perspective to the issue and many interesting facts. This is a good companion guide to the whole OBSI/ECB issue.
This type of report needs funding though, which is probably why it is a rarity. Thank you Consumers Council of Canada and its funding sources for this one.
